Our Favorite Send Off Ideas For Daytime
A bride reaches for her new husband with one hand, while holding the lacy train of her wedding dress with another. A crowd of some of the couples favorite people cheer, as the groom leans in to gently kiss his wife for the first.
Handfuls of rice fly through the air and cover the brides curly hair and fall into the grooms white dress-shirt pocket. Smiles, laughter and applause create an excited mood for the couple to look back on over the years.
There’s something purely joyful about a new married couple being greeting by a crowd of people, all celebrating the beginning of their life together! But long gone are the days of littering. Switch up more traditional send-off ideas, like paper confetti and rice, for more environmentally friendly options.
Try send-off ideas that are both fun, biodegradable and choking-hazard-free for natures little critters. We’re sure they will add a little something something to your already amazing day, while also making you feel like your doing your part to respect mother earths forests and land.
Bubbles
What’s more fun than blowing bubbles, right? ;) You did it as a kid. Now get showered with bubbles when your guests send you off to your honeymoon. This fun idea will bring a sense of childlike fun to your day. Buy these non-toxic bubbles in advance, then give them to your brides maid to pass them out to the rest of the elopement party.
Dried Flowers
Dried flowers spice up ANY occasion. They’re cute, feminine and classy. And best of all, there are endless flowers to choose from. From roses to peonies, to hydrangeas and forget-me-nots; You can’t go wrong with natural confetti! Go with a pre-made flower petal mix to match your wedding colors, or you can give your elopement a personalized touch by personally choosing and hand pressing your own flowers.
Tip: Place the flowers on a sheet of absorbant paper with another sheet on top. Then place inside one of your old books, with a paper weight to keep the book ceiled. Set aside for three weeks until dry.
Herbs
Along the same lines as dried flowers, try aromatic herbs. For a stimulating fragrance that matches the excitement of your day, try dried citrus and mint. A go-to mixture of lavender, sage, rosemary and thyme make the perfect natural confetti for any outdoor wedding. Add dried rose buds for a touch of color if you’d like. It’ll both invigorate your senses and make you smell good for the rest of the day ;)
Ribbons

If you need ideas, choose from five of these high quality fabrics: silk, cashmere, satin, linen and chiffon.
Bird Seed
Kim Captures respects and honors the earth. And with that, we want to make sure that during any outdoor elopement, we’re leaving nature better than we found it. Which is why bird seed is one our favorite send-off ideas. You can buy any kind of bird seed you’d like, then scoop a 1/4 cup or so into individual bags for your guests.
Butterflies
Butterflies bring a dreamy whimsical feel to any occasion, so why not release hundreds on your wedding day! Imagine a kaleidoscope of Painted Lady Butterflies or Monarchs peacefully dance through the sky. Look at Butterfly Release Company and Clearwater Butterfly for packages.
Tambourines
Music takes any occasion and turns it into a celebration. Walk to your car and have your guests congratulate you with the bright sound of tambourines! This send-off idea will have you dancing all the way to your honeymoon. If you can’t find tambourines, Maracas also work.
Doves
Let’s save the BEST for last, shall we! Through the centuries people have and still acknowledge white Doves as the bird who symbolizes peace, love and purity; which makes this option a romantic way to start your life together. Check out United Doves or Romero’s to schedule a dove release for your elopement.
Bells
When I think of bells, I think of Cinderella holding Prince Charmings hand as he helps her into the horse drawn carriage while the bells in the kingdom celebrate their love. As cheesy as it sounds, you can’t fight the fact that when the beautiful sound of bells ring it means something important is happening. And what’s more important than the moment you feel like you finally married the one.
